Privacy

Short version: we look at roads, not at people, and we collect almost nothing about you.
Camera images
- We only use cameras that their owners publish publicly (TxDOT, the City of El Paso and NMDOT). They show roads and bridges from far away.
- The AI describes scenes: traffic, road work, weather, vehicles, signs. It is instructed never to identify people, faces or license plates, and we do not run face or plate recognition.
- While this is a prototype we keep images and their descriptions so the site can show history (where things happen over time). We will set a retention limit before any wider launch, and will remove any image on request.
What we collect about you
- No account is needed to search. We don't ask for your name, email or location.
- Searches are processed to return results; we don't link them to you.
- We use Datafast, a privacy-friendly analytics tool, to count visits and pages. It does not sell data or build advertising profiles.
- Team members who sign in to the admin area give us their email address, used only for that sign-in.
Where data is processed
Images are analyzed on our own GPU server. Data is stored with MongoDB Atlas and Cloudflare R2, the site runs on Vercel, and search text is turned into vectors with OpenAI's embeddings API.
